Siu-ka-pha Archaeological Museum

This site museum, called Sui-ka-pha Archaeological Museum, was set up in 2023 within the boundary of the World Heritage Site to showcase the important artifacts excavated from Moidams by the Directorate of Archaeology, Government of Assam and Archaeological Survey of India. The exhibits include a male human skull, four female human skulls, gold pendants, a terracotta plaque depicting the figure of a mythical dragon (the royal Ahom insignia), several decorated ivory buttons and other objects, copper objects fixed around the wooden devices, various types of iron hooks and nails, cowries, cannon balls, one wooden bedstead leg, ceramic assemblages of different types, etc. All these valuable artifacts are part of the royal Ahom burial rites and burial goods.

Additionally, part components of two exquisite pieces of dolas—iron palanquins used as traditional modes of transportation by the Ahom royals, which were recovered during desilting of the Petu Dhuwa Pukhuri in Buffer Zone—have been put on display.

For providing basic information to visitors, the museum has incorporated maps, photographs, drawings and diagrams. Furthermore, the museum displays a series of terracotta wall plaques depicting an artist's recreation of some of Siu-ka-pha's major life events.
